Jail Chaplaincy

Since 1899, Lutheran chaplains have been serving the incarcerated at the Saint Louis City Jail. Today, with more than 1,200 inmates at the Saint Louis City Justice Center and another 1,400 at the Saint Louis County Justice Center, the two full time chaplains walk the halls and pods with the men and women they serve. The chaplains hold regularly scheduled Bible Studies, distribute devotional materials and conduct one and one and group counseling sessions.

Rev. Vince Stanley serves the Saint Louis County Justice Center.

Rev. Matt Weiss serves the Saint Louis City Medium Security Institute and the City Justice Center.
