Share Your Talent

We rely on a team of skilled volunteers to help us accomplish our mission. We can match your desire to serve with opportunities that will impact our families.

Childcare Providers

  • Provide childcare during counseling sessions, group activities, and other events

Events Coordinator

  • Assist with coordinating events, including fundraising activities and family fun activities

Repair a Home

  • Provide handyman services in our housing units
  • Commit 2 hours/month to general repairs, plumbing, drywall, painting, electrical work
  • Deep clean housing units when one family moves out and another moves in

Landscape & Mow

  • Maintain lawns and shrubs at homes of client families
  • Plant and tend landscaping at client homes or Humanitri headquarters
  • Teach a family to maintain a lawn in spring/summer when purchasing a first home

Collect Items/Shop Our Wish Lists

  • Hygiene and housekeeping supplies: laundry detergent, vacuum, broom, bath soap, deodorant, shampoo (Client Wish List)
  • Furniture: Twin/full bed frame, mattress, and linens (new), dining set, coffee table, loveseat, chairs (IKEA Wish List)
  • Décor and small appliances: lamps, clocks, hammer & nails, wall art, coffee makers, microwaves (Amazon Wish List)

Congregation Ambassador

  • Serve as the lead contact for us with your congregation
  • Engage your congregation in service projects and fundraising events that help us meet the needs of our families

Volunteer Training

All volunteers are required to attend volunteer orientation/training as part of the process of joining the Humanitri team.  If you are interested in attending an upcoming training session, please let us know through our Contact page.

Adopt a Home donations are used to fund the following items and services:

  • A private home for a homeless family
  • 12 months of utilities (electric, gas, water, trash, sewer)
  • New mattresses for each family member
  • Basic maintenance and upkeep of the home
  • Yard maintenance
  • 30 one-on-one in-home case management sessions focusing on financial management, household management and self-management
  • A “Get To It Kit” which includes a 12 month planner, calculator, budgeting sheets, bill organizer, notebook, and goal setting sheets
  • 24 counseling sessions focusing on healthy coping skills
  • 12 group sessions focusing on self-esteem and responsibility
  • Monthly bus pass
  • 12 months maintenance of a savings account
